伊朗駐聯合國大使扎伊夫周一拒絕了聯合國安理會要求伊朗在8月底前停止核研究的要求，表示此項要求並沒有相關法律做基礎。扎伊夫表示，伊朗以和平目的進行的核實驗並沒有對國際和平和安全造成威脅，因此同安理會進行此問題的協商並沒有必要，在可行性上也沒有任何法律基礎
