伊朗國家媒體報道, 伊議會發言人Gholam Ali Hadad Adel表示, 英國政府對15名士兵遭伊朗扣留事件的論調有所改變, 伊朗方面對此表示歡迎。

他稱, 英方此舉乃正確行為。過去幾天英國政府採取了有效行動, 其言論亦更有邏輯, 目前正傾向於和伊朗進行談判。 他指出, 此乃更為恰當的做法。

Hadad Adel重申, 伊朗仍堅持英國必須承認15名士兵3月23日被扣留時闖入了伊朗領海。 他指出, 英國必須承認錯誤, 並保證不再犯類似錯誤。

英國認為這些士兵被捕時正在伊拉克水域執行例行的反走私活動, 但伊朗指出英兵攜帶的全球定位系統顯示他們已經闖入了伊朗海域。

TEHRAN, Iran -  Iran on Wednesday freed the 15 detained British sailors and marines in what President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called an Easter gift to the British people. Prime Minister Tony Blair said he bore "no ill will" toward the Iranian people.

Iranian state toldevision said the 14 men and one woman, who were seized while on patrol in the northern Persian gulf on March 23, would leave Iran on Thursday. An Iranian official in London said they would be handed over to British diplomats in Tehran.
