Euro zone money supply is expected to have increased again in June, further exacerbating the
concerns of European Central Bank rate-setters about rising medium-term inflationary pressures.
US Durable goods orders in June should rebound from May s decline for several reasons, not just big new orders for Boeing planes.
"An upturn in the ISM manufacturing new orders index to a 16-month peak also signals strength," said Sherry Cooper of BMO Capital Markets, referring to the increase in the Institute for Supply Management s index of manufacturing activity.
The median expectation is for a 2.0 pct increase in durable goods orders for June, up from the 2.8 pct drop in May.
Even excluding transportation, economists expect a 0.7 pct increase, up from May s 1.0 pct
decline. |
