Hong Kong Gold, the interest is different everyday.  It is not decided by Emperor.  It is decided by Gold and Silver Association (don't know the actual proper name).

When it says High interest, that mean buyer will receive interest per every 100 兩, when holding gold buying order passing the clearing time.

When it says Low Interest, that mean seller will receive interest per every 100 兩, when holding gold selling order passing the clearning time.

You can sell before 3 a.m., say 2:55 a.m. (as Emperor will have its clearing at 3 a.m.), then after 3 a.m., the interest will be credited into your order.  You can call dealing room to square the trade (but of course, you'd better wait for gold to fall down, so as to cover the spread), or after 3:15 a.m. when Emperor trading platform resume working, then you can wait for good price to square your order.

No relation to Gold price at all.

If you sell 100 兩 of Hong Kong Gold and hold it passing through the clearing time (3 a.m. for Emperor), then, after 3 a.m., you will see HK$452.4 credited into your order (can see from your online Statement).  But of course if you sell, but then gold rise up, the interest that you earn, may not be able to cover your loss on gold rise!
