I was born and bred in Hong Kong.  I must admit that in terms of writing and expression, my English is far better than Chinese (especially when it comes to preparing public speeches).  At times I feel bad about it because this is not normal.  But this is Hong Kong and we were educated that way.   I want so much to share with you on this forum but have been prevented from doing so because (1) I can't type Chinese (2) I know so little as a beginner and a loser in gold trading; I don't know how to read charts and trends and have nothing worthy to contribute.  But I am so impressed by everybody on this forum for your willingness and generosity to share, your breath of knowledge (not only in money making), your sense of humour and your remarkable use of the Chinese language. I hate to be silent and seem to be forever taking things away from this forum and not giving anything in return.  But do forgive me.

Welcome on board Fantasia, few months ago I had the same problem exactly you now have, i.e. couldn't type Chinese at all. I guess most of the friends in this forum can still remember this cause I received a lot of complaints from them for using English.   I then tried very hard to overcome the problem by using PenPower and, after a few weeks I could basically communicate with others in Chinese without much problem.   So unless you don't understand Chinese at all which I presume will hardly be the case in HK.  You now have a good chance to learn using Chinese and shall spare no efforts to do so if you really want to become a member of this forum.

不懂洋文，不懂便应学習去懂。光会說会懂汉语也不見得一定能夠把中国的文化发扬光大。也不是足夠的理由去不學習其他的語言。知己知彼，百战百胜 。对不能寫中文的朋友，应是鼓勵而不是非議。
