The trend in gold is set by the overall trend in the US dollar. Black boxes cannot do anything as they have no mind outside of algorithms. Fundamentally the slowing of the US economy will eliminate any interest rate differential consider by newcomers as dollar positive and be impacted negatively by lower tax revenues without drastically lower Federal spending
